Canoe Polo Hunston Project Rules

  1. The game is started with the ball being thrown into the centre of the pitch. Teams should be at their goal ends and may start as soon as the ball is thrown.
  2. No paddling whilst holding the ball, except to turn on the spot.
  3. Ball is in a player's possession while in a players hands, or on the player's spraydeck
  4. No possession of the ball for longer than 5 seconds.
  5. No stealing the ball from another player's possession.
  6. No holding another player's boat or body.
  7. No player may use the paddle on the ball unless they are the nominated goalie, and the ball is in the air.
  8. No ramming which causes contact with any part of another player's body.
  9. No contact with the paddle onto any part of another player's body.
  10. When dribbling, the ball must be thrown at least a metre away from the player's hand.
  11. Play may continue if up to two players come out of their boats at once, if more than two come out at once play must stop until they are all recovered. The ball remains in possession of the team which had it when play was stopped. Teams restart from their ends as if after a goal has been scored.
  12. After a goal is scored, teams must return to their goal ends. The team against which the goal has been scored have possession; the opposing team may start to move after the ball is first thrown.
